What can I expect a Rolfing® session to feel like?

In a Rolfing session you can expect to feel touch varying from light to deep pressure that’s applied at a slower pace than that of a massage.  I do not use lotions or oils in these sessions so that I can sink into the connective tissue, the fascia, and listen to what the client’s system needs.

You can also expect to be an active participant in the process on and off the table, as you will get more out of the Series this way and learn more about your body and how to move it in gravitational field in which we live.

You can also expect to wear your “Rolfing uniform” each session.  This includes any combination of under garments you feel comfortable in, on and off the table.

EX. Men – Boxer briefs, biking shorts.  Women – Bra & boy shorts; No sports bras

About Jillian

IMG_8252

Originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana, Jillian has lived in Texas, California and has found her home in Boulder, CO. After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Texas in Austin in 2004, she became a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in 2007. Jillian received her first Rolfing session during her massage training; it was then that she felt a calling to Colorado to become a Certified Rolfer of Structural Integration. There she has found a new home with many opportunities that community and region has to offer.

She has been a student of dance since the age of three. As a Dancer-Athlete, Jillian has a long list of injuries and structural misalignments that has kept her interest in a consistent pursuit of structural and energetic healing. She also deals with ongoing, deeply rooted, vehicle traumas present in her body. Jillian integrates a Fascial Fitness program by combining yoga, healthy eating habits, weekly exercises and receiving bodywork to keep her mind and body in balance.

Jillian strives to progressively share her ability as a healer and educator of the body. She is constantly in this endeavor by using her experience with bodywork, expressing her knowledge of the body and facilitating ease of movement. Jillian strongly believes educational sessions are part of integral healing.

Jillian is trained in:

  • Rolfing® Structural Integration
  • Swedish & Deep Tissue Massage
  • Bio-Dynamic Cranial Sacral
  • Body Talk Access
  • Pre-Natal
  • Level I Reiki
  • Source Point Therapy®

Jillian is a graduated from the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in Boulder, CO in 2013. She has a private practice here in Boulder, CO and Lake Charles, LA and is accepting new clients. To date, her training at the Rolf Institute has shown her the importance of the Principles of Structural Integration: Wholism, Support, Adaptability, Palitonicity, and Closure.

She believes in listening to the client so there can be a mutual understanding of what he/she wants to accomplish within themselves; this will allow their true, original self to shine through. She strives to facilitate peace within the chaos of the connective tissue, AKA “The Fascial Web.” She believes this happens through a journey of filtering the pathways within the body, which allows energy to flow through more freely. This will ultimately promote ease of movement, deeper breathes and better communication within one’s self.

In her spare time Jillian enjoys the outdoors by hiking, camping and taking walks with her dog, Sandy. She also enjoys dancing, cooking, live music, traveling, reading and photography. Her family spans over Louisiana and Texas, but she has found new friends and family here in Boulder, CO.
